A fancy vivid pink diamond will officially be the most expensive piece of jewelry Christie’s Hong Kong has ever auctioned when it goes under the hammer at the Magnificent Jewels sale this month.

The 14.93-carat, VVS1-clarity, type IIa stone, known as the Pink Promise, has an estimate of $28 million to $42 million, Christie’s announced Wednesday.

It will be one of more than 290 lots in the November 28 auction, though it won’t be the only pink diamond on offer: An 8.80-carat, fancy intense pink, VVS1 stone set in a ring is expected to sell for $8.8 million to $12 million.

Other items will include an 8.17-carat pigeon’s blood Burmese ruby ring at an estimated $5.8 million to $8 million, as well as a jadeite-bead and diamond necklace for a projected $7.3 million to $10 million.

    John,

WOW!!! you have amazing pieces on your site. The Red Diamonds are simply amazing, just seeing the certificates takes my breathe away. I have never seen a Red Diamond and yet you have two that are GIA Certified. This site is amazing. I look forward to seeing and reading new content as it is available.
