June is here and you know what that means….Wedding Season is officially upon us! There are countless Brides saying “I Do” this summer in Carmel, Dallas, Napa Valley, New York, Italy, Cannes and many other beautiful cities. Thinking back to old and new Movie Stars and Celebrities I find it interesting to see photographs of The Fine Jewelry they chose to wear on their Wedding Day. A Diamond Ring is a given, but let’s look at what other Gems and Jewelry they wore in addition to their Wedding Ring.
Grace Kelly wore classic drop style Pearl Earrings. Elizabeth Taylor, well I could write an entire book on her Jewelry Collection, not to mention the countless weddings, so let’s just say that she gets an honorable mention for the sake of this topic. I will say that she loved Diamond Tiaras paired with her wedding veils. Katie Holmes wore stunning Blue Sapphire and Diamond Stud Earrings to her marriage to Tom Cruise. I personally loved this look, and I thought it was a brilliant way to bring in “Something Blue” which every bride needs on her Wedding Day. One ring that is still talked about today is the infamous 6+ Carat Pink Heart Shaped Diamond ring that Jennifer Lopez was engaged with. That ring drew attention by the rich, famous and fashionable across the world. It really put Pink Diamonds on the map for collectors. Gwen Stefani wore classic Round Brilliant Diamond Studs. Ivanka Trump got married recently and she wore many pieces from her own Jewelry Collection, including a Platinum Diamond hairpiece to accent her veil as wells as an Art Deco Link Platinum-Diamond Bracelet.
From what I am hearing from brides this season, it really comes down to personal taste and what you feel most beautiful wearing with your wedding dress, whether it be diamond encrusted Bracelets, Blue Sapphire Earrings, Pearls, or even a classy Diamond Tiara that makes you feel like a princess. One thing I know for sure is that every bride I have ever met want to “Sparkle” on their Wedding Day. Bring on the Bling!
